This section describes what you can set up in Graphical Planner in order for you to schedule your plan.
Use the checklist below, to ensure that you set up Graphical Planner the way that you want to use it.
Note: Refer to Preactor's help system for a full description of Graphical Planner.
Calendar templates, periods and states identify the different types of working periods or shifts required to run your business. Default calendar templates (five, six and seven day working weeks), are provided with Graphical Planner. You can create calendars to reflect the shift patterns in your business.
By default, no resources are provided with Graphical Planner.
When you select Get All Data from Manufacturing (using Graphical Planner's Data Transfer Menu), resources are imported into Graphical Planner from Manufacturing. Graphical Planner automatically associates the resources with the correct calendar template.
You can make changes once you have imported your resources.
In Manufacturing, there is only a one-to-one relationship between the primary resource and the primary resource group. In Graphical Planner, one resource can be part of several resource groups. You may need to manually adjust the Primary Resource using the Primary Resource Group menu option to set this up.
For more information, see Primary resource group.
You can change how resources are displayed in the Sequence Overview, or the order in which they appear.
For more information, see Primary resources.
You can edit the number of resources assigned to a task and change how the information appears on the Sequence Overview.
For more information, see Secondary resources.
You can edit this to set the horizon defaults and Sequence Overview Range. This lets you control the segment of time that you want to view.
You can define the Graphical Planner workspace, according to your needs, by customising the toolbars and formatting the sequencer layout.
